A twenty-year-old Trion man was arrested on DUI charges last week after getting into a single-vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 3rd  in Trion.  According to a report released by the Georgia State Patrol, Bryce Andrew Cordell was traveling west on Welcome Hill Road in a 2015 Nissan Altima and was attempting to negotiate a curve when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.  Cordell told a responding trooper that a deer had ran into the path of his vehicle and he was attempted to avoid hitting the deer.  Cordell was charged with underage possession of alcohol, failure to maintain a single lane and DUI for alcohol and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
