A forty-two-year-old Rome woman who was accused of stealing a financial transaction card earlier this year at a restaurant on Martha Berry Highway, barricaded herself inside the Krystal Restaurant on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome last week.

Police were attempting to serve a warrant on Camecka Shunta Snelling on Thursday, when Snelling refused to open the doors of the restaurant for police officers.  Officers did gain entry into the restaurant and Snelling barricaded herself in the restaurant’s office by locking the door.  Officers retrieved a key and Snelling allegedly held the door knob in a way to prevent the key from working.

Snelling is accused of stealing the card at the Cookout Restaurant in August of this year and then making a $11.27 purchase with the card at a cosmetic store on Broad Street.

Snelling was taken into custody and is now charged with theft by taking, failure to appear and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
