A thirty-three-year-old Douglasville, Georgia man was arrested on Monday of last week in Chattooga County after leading a Georgia State Trooper on a highspeed chase on Highway 27. 

According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol that was released yesterday, a state trooper clocked David Thomas Horner going above the posted speed limit on Highway 27 near Halls Valley Road in Trion.  The trooper activated his blue lights and attempted to make a traffic stop.  Horner continued traveling southbound on Highway 27 and reached speeds of 126 miles per hour in a posted 45 mile per hour speed zone.

The report says that when Horner was nearing Harrell Street he through up his arms as if to tell the trooper he was surrendering.  The motorcyclist then pulled into a private lot at the corner of Harrell Street and Highway 27.  The trooper pulled his service revolver and ordered Horner to the ground, where he was cuffed and placed under arrest.

Horner was on probation at the time of his arrest last week for fleeing and attempting to elude.  Horner was charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude and multiple traffic violations in connection with the chase last Monday.
