A twenty-four-year-old Summerville woman was charged with DUI after being told not to drive by Chattooga 911 dispatchers.

Deputies responded to a Maplewood Drive address on December 23rd, concerning a domestic situation.  As they were traveling towards the location, dispatchers told them that the woman in question had been involved in a domestic situation in which she said she had been assaulted.  The woman told the dispatcher that she was going to get in her vehicle and follow the person who had allegedly assaulted her and the dispatcher advised her not to do so, because the woman had already admitted to drinking.

Deputies found the woman, who has stopped her vehicle in the roadway.  The woman told deputies that she knew she shouldn’t have been driving.  The woman said that the aggressor had dragged her out of a truck and assaulted her, prior to her getting behind the wheel of her vehicle.

After being assessed and treated by EMS, Jakyia Lajean Walker was charged with DUI for alcohol and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
