The Summerville Police Department released a report late last week about a man who was arrested on Favor Street on drug charges on Christmas Eve.
Someone reported a suspicious person in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store at the corner of Kelly and Commerce Streets around 7:15 AM. Police responded and saw a man in camouflage clothing running across Commerce Street. The officer pulled onto Favor Street behind the old Armstrong’s Restaurant and saw a man in camouflage sitting in a white van.
When officers spoke to the man, he denied being the one the officers had just seen running across the street. While speaking with the man, the officers observed a syringe cap in the driver’s vehicle. The suspect denied having any drugs, but officers found suspected methamphetamine crystals in the driver’s seat and saw fresh needle marks on the suspect’s arms.
Fifty-two-year-old Kevin M. Thomas was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession or use of drug-related objects, possession of synthetic narcotics and drugs to be kept in original container and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail .
