Over 300 property tax bills have been returned to the Chattooga County Tax Commissioners Office due to address errors.  Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that anyone who has not filed an assessment appeal and has not received their tax bill by now, should go onto the tax commissioner’s website at www.chattoogatax.com  and update their address.  There is also a link where taxpayers can sign up to have their tax bills sent electronically.  Hampton said that as of Thursday, over 35% of the county’s 2023 property taxes have been collected.  The due date for 2023 property taxes is March 1, 2024.
