Two people were pulled from a burning house on Kinzy Street in Trion on Wednesday morning around 4:30 AM. The Trion Fire Department responded and were able to confirm that there were two people inside the home along with three dogs. Two of the dogs were unresponsive and a third was alert. Summerville and Hays Fire Departments responded to the scene for assistance. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Georgia State Fire investigators. Engine 12R found heavy fire and smoke coming from the B side of a structure upon arrival on Kinzy Street in Trion on January 10th around 4:30am. Firefighters deployed 250ft of 1.5in attack line for interior fire attack. 25ft of 2.5in was deployed for water supply and hooked directly to a fire hydrant. Firefighters were advised of two confirmed entrapments inside the structure. Both residents were removed from the home within a timely manner after arriving on scene. The primary search team “VEIS” entered the structure through a window on the D side of the structure. The female patient was removed from a bedroom on the D-A side of the structure and the male patient was removed from another bedroom on the D-C side. Both patients were handed over to Atrium Health Floyd Emergency Medical services for further care as one was conscious and alert while the other was unresponsive. Firefighters also removed three dogs that were found during the search of the structure. Two of the dogs was unresponsive and one was alert and fine.The fire suppression attack team entered on the A side of the structure for extinguishment and quickly got the fire under control. For backup, there was also 250ft of 1.5in attack line deployed for fire control.
Firefighters overhauled and extinguished all fire and hot spots throughout the structure. There’s heavy Fire and Water damage throughout the structure.
After extinguishing the fire and hot spots, Trion Fire turned the scene over to Georgia State Fire Investigators.
