The long hot dry days we have been having lately in Northwest Georgia aren’t a good sign for the long-term drought conditions that are already causing problems in the southern part of the state. A line south of Atlanta shows worsening conditions from Macon to the Florida line. So far Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia are not officially in a drought according to the National Weather Service – but without significant rain over the next several days that could change as the "drought line" makes it’s way north through the state.
