Savanna McGill has announced her candidacy for Chattooga County Coroner.

McGill stated on Thursday, ” I am excited to announce that I will be seeking election for Chattooga County Coroner in the 2024 election. I am a lifetime resident of Chattooga County and a graduate of Trion High School & Gadsden State Community College. I have worked as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Atrium Health Floyd for five years. I have a four year old son, Grey, who is the light of my life. While working in the emergency department I have had the opportunity to build relationships with our current county coroner, along with coroners from surrounding counties. There are phenomenal people that serve in those positions in our area. I absolutely adore the community that we live in. There is just no place like Chattooga County and I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve our county”.

McGill told WZQZ News that she will be running in the Republican Primary in May.  So far, she is the only candidate that had declared their intentions to run for the post.
