With the subfreezing temperatures in our area over the past several days, the City of Menlo believes that there might be undiscovered leaks or busted water pipes.  Jeff Keen with the City of Menlo told WZQZ News on Saturday afternoon that the city’s reservoir level indicates that there is a large amount of water being used.

Keen said that while the reservoir is not losing level, it is also not increasing which indicates that there could be several leaks.  Over the past several days leaks have been discovered on the customer’s side of Menlo’s water lines.  Keen recommends that Menlo water customers check their meters.  If a meter is spinning fast, it could indicate a leak.  Also, check outside or exposed pipes and fixtures.
