The Georgia General Assembly is in session at the state capital and Chattooga County’s representatives had a busy day on Monday as they attended committee meetings. 

State Representative Eddie Lumsden, a Republican from Armuchee, was busy with a lengthy meeting concerning public safety and State Senator Colton Moore, a Republican from Trenton, attended a meeting that would create honorary Georgia title.

Lumsden, a former State Trooper, is a member of the House Appropriations subcommittee that deals with public safety.  That subcommittee heard from fourteen different governmental departments and agencies yesterday afternoon.

Moore, a member of the Senate Government Oversight Committee, sat in on a meeting that considered a bill that would allow Georgia’s governor to give people the honorary title of “Georgia Colonel”, similar to the title given in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
