It appears that local voters might not have much choice when they go to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary on March 12th.  Both President Biden and Republican front-runner former President Donald Trump appear to be the likely candidates of their respective parties.

Local Republicans quickly endorsed former President Donald Trump after he recently won the Iowa Caucus.  The former President who is facing a criminal indictment in Georgia, has since gone on to win the New Hampshire Primary.  All of the former president’s fellow Republicans have dropped out of the race except for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Despite the fact that there are still two active Republican candidates that would appear on Georgia’s Republican Presidential Preference Primary ballots in March, the leadership of the local Republican Party chose to fully endorse the former President.

The party drew criticism recently when they announced that they had established a five-person vetting committee to determine if local Republican candidates are conservative enough for voters to choose from.
