State Senator Colton Moore, a Republican who represents Chattooga County and the rest of the 53rd Senate District in the Georgia State Senate, spent a lot of 2023 calling for the investigation of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.  She is handling the prosecution of former President Donald Trump on charges that he interfered with the 2020 Presidential election in Georgia.

Last week, the Georgia State Senate initiated an investigation into Willis after reports surfaced that she was having an illicit affair with a special prosecutor hired to work on the case against the former President.

Senator Moore was interviewed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week and said, “We have a solution to investigate Fani Willis. And if you don’t mind just telling your readers: I told you so.”

Senator Moore was calling for a special legislative session last year to conduct the investigation.  He was ousted by the Senate Republican Caucus who viewed his calls for a special term as self-aggrandizing.

Moore has been a staunch critic of the Republican leadership in Georgia, often targeting Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
