January has seen heavy rain and Arctic air for Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama, but it looks as if we will be closing out the month with temperatures above average and a mainly dry forecast going into the first of February.

There is no sign of any Arctic air for the Deep South, including our area for the next seven to ten days.  Temperatures will be seasonal to slightly above average for early February.

As we head towards the middle of February, there are some signs that we could see a return to colder temperatures, but it is too early for any predictions.

This week should be a quiet week for our area with no flooding, severe storms, heavy rain or wintry precipitation in the forecast.   Today, we are looking for mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 50’s.
