The Trion Fire Department, along with the Chattooga County Swift Water Rescue Team and Atrium Health Floyd EMS, responded to a call about two victims in Spring Creek near Penn Bridge on Penn Bridge Road around noon on Saturday.

Rescuers accessed the creek at 1316 West Spring Creek Road and were able to quickly identify the two people.  A male had already made his way out of the river and refused medical treatment. Rescuers entered the water with life safety equipment to safely remove the other male that was in the middle of the water on a tree limb.

He was transported to the Chattooga County Emergency Room for further evaluation.
