A twenty-year-old man was charged with DUI and underage possession of alcohol after a complaint about someone driving recklessly in the parking lot behind McDonalds in Summerville on January 31st.  When a sheriff’s deputy arrived to investigate the complaint, the truck in question couldn’t be located.  A short time later, the deputy returned to the area and spotted the truck sitting in the parking lot at Marvin’s.  The deputy told the driver that they had received complaints about him driving erratically, in circles, around another vehicle.  When the deputy asked the driver what he was doing, he replied that he was just sitting in the parking lot while he was eating.  The deputy observed a twelve-pack of beer inside the truck.  After a field sobriety check, Haven James Deveir told the arresting deputy, “See, I told you I was drinking”.  Deveir was arrested and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
