“The Pickup” is an Amazon movie that will star Eddie Murphy and filming for the production is taking place in Floyd County. Production crews spoke with Floyd County officials this week saying that they would be filming in Lindale and Rome later this month.
The production crew spoke with officials and asked for approval for intermittent traffic control for two days – one this month and another in April.
The star of the movie, Eddie Murphy, will not be in Floyd County for the filming. The production crew says that they are getting footage for a scene where the “bad guys” are fleeing. They plan to film on Darlington Drive at Highway 411 and also will be filming at the old mill in Lindale.
The production crew is also seeking a permit from the Georgia Department of Transportation to film on the bypass near Blacks Bluff Road in Floyd County.
According to movie industry insiders, the movie is a heist comedy and Eddie Murphy would play a guy who becomes smitten with a woman and finds himself mixed up in a heist attempt.
