The City of Summerville has released details about a special election that will be held to fill the unexpired term of David Ford, who passed away earlier this month.  The special election will be held at the same time as the May 21, 2024 General Primary Election. 

From the City of Summerville:

The City of Summerville will hold a Special Election on May 21, 2024, to fill the unexpired term of Council Seat #1.

To be eligible to be a member of the council of said city, a person shall be a resident of the City of Summerville for 12 months prior to the date of the election and shall continue to reside therein during that member’s period of service and be registered and qualified to vote in the municipal elections of this city.

Qualifying for the May 21, 2024, Special Election will be held:

Monday, April 1, 2024                  8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 2, 2024                 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 3, 2024            8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The qualifying fee for Council Seat #1 is $108.00
