Summerville Police were called to Bellah Avenue on Tuesday of this week in reference to a theft.  They spoke with the complainant who said that she was having a conversation outside the residence with a man that she identified to police. 

The complainant’s sister called for her to come back inside the house.  When the complainant came back outside, she says she saw the suspect getting out of her vehicle with her brown Coach wallet and a handgun she had in the vehicle.  The wallet was valued at $500 and there was $1800 in cash inside the wallet, along with her debit card, license and the electronic pass for her storage unit.  The handgun was identified as a 9mm Hi-Point.

Summerville Police had reason to believe that the suspect was headed to Trion and notified Trion Police.  Trion Police made contact with the suspect’s vehicle.  The suspect got out of his vehicle and fled on foot.  Summerville and Trion Police were not able to locate the suspect.

Summerville Police took out warrants on twenty-four-year-old Jacob Levi McGuire in connection with the theft.  Trion Police took out warrants in connection with fleeing and eluding of law enforcement.  McGuire was arrested on the warrants and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Wednesday.
