Two teens are facing charges in connection with vandalism that happened Sunday March 17th at the African-American museum in Trion. 

According to Trion Police, the two teens broke into the building and caused around $30,000 worth of damage.  The two teens also left racists messages inside the building.  One of the teens reportedly confessed to police about the damage to the building and identified the other suspect to police.

Trion Police Chief David Gilleland told WZQZ News that the two teens are now facing charges in juvenile court in connection with the act of vandalism.

The old kindergarten building has been leased to the museum by the Town of Trion. Trion Mayor Lanny Thomas told WZQZ that the Town of Trion is in the process of adding security cameras at the building in order to prevent any future incidents.
