A suspect with a felony warrant attempted to outrun Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader on Wednesday afternoon but was subsequently apprehended after a brief foot chase.  Sheriff Schrader told WZQZ News that Robert Earl Green was wanted after a warrant was issued for failure to appear in court.  The sheriff spotted Green driving on Highway 157 at Cloudland and attempted to pull Green over.  Green accelerated and refused to stop.  Green then turned left on Highway 48 and the chase continued down the mountain and into the Menlo City limits.  Green then turned on 7th Avenue and then on Edison Street and then to Polk Street.  Green pulled into an empty driveway and jumped out of his vehicle, running into the nearby woods.  Sheriff Schrader and a sheriff’s deputy pursued Green on foot and apprehended him a short distance from where he had parked his car.  Green was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and will be facing fleeing and attempting to elude charges on top of the felony warrant for failure to appear.
