The Summerville City Council is looking to award the bid for the 2024 Celebrate Independence Fireworks show to Parker Systems of Summerville.  David Parker’s company has provided the pyrotechnics for the event each year.  According to an agenda for tomorrow evening’s Summerville City Council meeting, the city will spend $22,000 on the fireworks show this year.  All of the money that is spent for the annual show is raised by sponsorship sold to local businesses and industry in Chattooga County.  Also their will be a concert at the event.  It was announced this past week that Babe’s Bayou will be the headliner for Celebrate Independence, scheduled for July 3rd at the Chattooga County Ag Building.
