At the close of day on Saturday, less than seventy Summerville residents had voted early in a special election that is being held to fill the unexpired term of Summerville City Councilman David Ford, who passed away earlier this year.

Sixty-nine voters had cast their ballots in person and one voter had requested an absentee ballot, but that absentee ballot had not been returned as of Saturday.

Early voting will continue this week and voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots again this Saturday, May 11th.  All early voting for the City of Summerville special election takes place at Summerville City Hall, located on Georgia Avenue.  Voting hours are 9 AM until 5 PM.

This Friday, May 10th, is the last day to request an absentee ballot in the Summerville Special Election.
