A rash of storage unit break ins have been reported recently to the Summerville Police Department.  Over the past weekend, the manager of a storage unit facility off Commerce Street in Summerville contacted police after the renter of one of the units noticed that the lock was missing on  her storage unit.

The renter said that inside the storage unit, all of her belongings had been moved and shuffled around.  Several power tools were missing from the unit that were valued at $2000.  Police discovered two large holes cut in the fencing on the north side of the units.

While police were speaking with the victim, identified as Lisa Eaton, a second victim pulled up and told police his storage unit had been broken into as well.  Gary Lovingood told police that someone had broken into his storage unit and had stolen a pressure washer.

Police promised more patrols in the area.
