A Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a car last Saturday night on Highway 100 near the Holland / Chattoogaville Road after he noticed the car failing to maintain a single lane.  When the deputy approached the car, he could smell burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. 

The teenage drive, identified as eighteen-year-old Logan Ellington, told the deputy that there were no drugs in the vehicle.  The deputy asked Ellington to step out of the car and immediately Ellington told the deputy that he had “something in his pocket” and pulled out two bags of marijuana. Inside the car, the deputy found another bag of marijuana and a bag of what appeared to be psychedelic or “magic” mushrooms.  The deputy also found a set of scales inside the vehicle.

Ellington was arrested and charged with failure to maintain a single lane, possession of marijuana (felony), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I Psilocybin (“magic mushrooms”, and possession of Schedule I Psilocybin with intent to distribute.
