Chattooga River Fest is happening today in conjunction with the Ducky Derby and festivities at Dowdy Park in Summerville.  River Fest activities will be taking place along the Chattooga River and a festival will be going on throughout the day in downtown Summerville.  Then tonight, there will be a block party featuring A1A – Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show. 

The block party gets underway at 5 PM with a $5 admission – children 12 and under are free with an adult. The stage at the Open-Air Pavilion will host local musicians from 5-7 PM. Since this is in the entertainment district, alcohol in designated cups (only) may be purchased at participating restaurants: Dos Maguey’s and Jefferson’s.

At 7 PM, GP Federal Credit Union, Susan Locklear with Summerville Main Street and Cindy McGraw with Chattooga River Group will host games, announce award winners from activities throughout the day and draw for raffles.

Then, at 8 PM,  A1A “Let’s Get Tropical” will take the stage. Jeff Pike and his band are THE Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band. During its 32-year history, A1A has played to countless high-profile clients, Parrot Heads, and fans nationwide and continues to draw large crowds to their performances. Jimmy Buffett and members of his band, the late Greg “Fingers” Taylor, Mac McAnally, Michael Utley, Robert Greenidge, Peter Mayer, Amy Lee, Nadirah Shakoor, and Tina Gullickson, have all performed with A1A over the years.

The energy, musicianship, originality, excitement, and continuous honest dedication to preserving Jimmy Buffet’s legacy that has always surrounded a Jeff Pike and A1A performance are an experience and a driving force that has helped the band remain the first, foremost and longest running Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show in history.
