AM 1180 recently spoke with Greg McCullum who is working on a project – Chattooga Photo History.  Mr. McCullum, a Chattooga County native, is gathering historical pictures from all over Chattooga County to be published in an upcoming book.

McCullom originally started a web site calle Chattooga Photo History (www.chattoogaphotohistory.com ) as a way to showcase some of the old photos he had taken as a high school photographer at CHS.  He was approached by Arcadia Publishers about doing a book and since then has begun collecting photographs of Chattooga County.  Mr. McCullom said he is looking for any picture from before 1980 of Chattooga County, its people and places.

Pictures could be:

School pictures – from any of Chattooga County’s current or historical schools

Church pictures – pictures of Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday Schools, Revivals, Tent Meetings

Businesses – pre -1980 business pictures from all over Chattooga County

If you have any pictures you can contact Mr. McCullom at

greg@chattoogaphotohistory.com  or by calling 706-235-0782.

Images of America: Chattooga County will be published in May 2012 by Arcadia Publishing.
