The Summer meeting of the Chattooga County Historical Society will be held tomorrow, Sunday, July 14th.  The topic of this quarter’s meeting will focus on the historic Tooga Theater in downtown Summerville.  Also, a discussion will be held about the ongoing renovations at the historic theater. The Tooga first opened its doors in 1947 and continued in operation as a movie theater for over forty years.  The building then served as the headquarters for the Chattooga County Shrine Club until it was purchased by the county in 2015 by former Commissioner Jason Winters.  The meeting will be held on Sunday, July 14 at 2 PM at the Historic Summerville Depot.  Meetings are open to the public.
