A three-year-old child died after drowning in Weiss Lake over the past weekend. The youngster, Kinley Nicole Anderson, was with family members in Cherokee County when she disappeared late Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Office Deputies – along with Leesburg Police and Fire units – the Cherokee County EMA – Cherokee County Rescue Squad – along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Division and the Atrium Floyd EMS units – all responded to the scene.  The lake house was in the 400 block of Northwood Drive in Centre.

Kinley, authorities and family said, fell off the dock.  Once found, she was taken to Cherokee Medical Center in Centre – where she was pronounced dead at 7:30 PM.

Kinley’s aunt, Kellye Palas, has started a GoFundMe page in order to help the family with the young girl’s burial.
