Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry announced on Thursday that Chattooga County Animal Control will partner with the Atlanta Humane Society to offer a low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Chattooga County on Monday, August 26th and Tuesday, August 27th.

A $10 refundable cash deposit is required to make appointments.  The exact location for the clinic has not been determined, and there is a limited number of appointments available.  To sign up, pet owners will need to come to Chattooga County Animal Control in person.  Appointments will not be made over the phone.  Pet owners should bring a picture of the animal(s) with them.  Appointments will be made starting Monday, July 29th at 10 AM.
If you already have an appointment with the Animal Advocate grant at the Summerville Veterinary Clinic, you should keep that appointment. The low cost spay and neuter clinic is for Chattooga County residents only. The Chattooga County Animal Shelter is located at 464 Red Oak Road in Summerville.
The announcement from the commissioner’s office came after Animal Advocates of Chattooga Announced that they were suspending their free spay and neuter program indefinitely.
