The Chattooga County Agricultural Fair is coming up next month.  The fair will be held Thursday, August 22nd through Sunday August 25th.  The four-day event will highlight agriculture in Chattooga County with a special emphasis on Chattooga County’s agricultural education programs in local schools.

Each day of the fair will feature livestock shows where Chattooga County FFA and 4-H students participate with their own livestock.  One of the highlights of the agricultural shows is the poultry show and auction, where students who have raised their own poultry will show and the auction off their animals to the highest bidder.  Also, there will be goat, lamb, beef and dairy shows at the fair.

The Chattooga County Agricultural Fair was first established in 1904 but fell dormant for several decades until ten years ago when, in 2014,  then- Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters named a fair council to bring back the fair.  This year will mark ten years since the fair made its comeback.
