Summerville Police were called last Wednesday night after a man who was sitting on his porch on First Avenue reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like glass shattering.  When police arrived and spoke with the man, he said that he saw two flashlights in the distance and then a short time thereafter, heard the crashing sound and believed it to be on Cox Street.  When the officer investigated, he found a house on Cox Street where someone had thrown a concrete flowerpot through the window.  The owner of the building had a surveillance camera and was quickly in contact with police.  When the owner arrived on the scene, he and the officer went through the house and found no more property damage.  While observing the broken glass, the officer spotted a speck of blood on some of the shattered glass.  A piece of the glass with the blood speck was sent to the GBI crime lab and the incident remains under investigation.
