The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has awarded a $1 million grant to the City of Summerville for sewer improvements.  The grant money will be used to help fund the $1.1 million project in the area of Highland Avenue.  Two years ago, the city was awarded a similar grant for sewer line improvements in the same area.  This will be used to expand the sewer line improvements for residents and businesses in the area.  The city will be responsible for paying $108,584, according to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
