A Floyd County Judge has set the trial date for an Armuchee man accused of killing his eighty-two-year-old grandmother after locking her in a freezer until her body was found by Floyd County Police in 2021.  The trial date for Robert Keith Tincher III has been set for January of this year.  The trial was delayed due to a mental evaluation of Tincher.  Tincher is accused of forcing his grandmother, Doris Cumming, into plastic bags and dragging her around – breaking several bones.  Tincher then placed the woman in a freezer while she was still alive.  Investigators interviewed Tincher, who said he wasn’t provoked and didn’t have an argument with his grandmother prior to forcing her into the freezer. Police arrested Tincher in April 2022 at his Hennon Drive home on felony malice murder, concealing the death of another, aggravated battery and felony murder charges.
