Georgia Attorney Ben Finley has assembled an experienced team to help residents respond to toxic polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. The team includes environmental advocate Erin Brockovich, who has dedicated her life to holding corporations accountable.

Later this month, the PFAS Georgia team, led by Finley, will begin holding informational town hall meetings to educate residents about the dangers of PFAS contamination and their options for holding corporations like 3M accountable. The group has also opened a local office in Dalton to help residents learn more about PFAS and seek justice for harms caused by these corporations.

In addition to Erin Brockovich, Finley has recruited Bob Bowcock, one of the nation’s premier water experts, to assist with water testing and analysis. In March, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that over one million Georgians have likely been exposed to PFAS pollution.

“Northwest Georgia deserves a team who knows how to take on big corporations and secure justice. I’ve been doing that in Georgia for 33 years, and I’m excited to work with Erin Brockovich, Bob Bowcock, and our team of local attorneys to raise awareness of this water crisis and make sure residents have the tools they need to fight back,” said attorney Ben Finley.

“I’ve spent my life holding corporations accountable and fighting to ensure that everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water. These are man-made and preventable disasters that never should’ve happened,” said Erin Brockovich. “The toxic PFAS contamination around Dalton is some of the worst I’ve seen in my career. That’s why I’m joining this fight and why I’m standing with this community to make sure they have the tools they need to hold those responsible accountable.”

Brockovich will join two town hall meetings in Northwest Georgia on September 20th and 21st. These events are open to the public.
