There was nothing unlucky about Friday the thirteenth as both local high school football teams continued their winning streaks last night with the Chattooga Indians defeating Gordon Central and the Trion Bulldogs defeating LaFayette.

The undefeated Indians traveled to Gordon Central on Friday and dominated the field with Gordon Central only scoring once.

Chattooga’s first touchdown came on a 10-yard rushing touchdown by Quarry Gibson with six minutes to go in the first quarter.  Gibson went on for another touchdown with three minutes left in the first quarter.  The Indians scored again before the end of the first quarter and by the start of the second quarter led the game 21-0.  Zayden Cook scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown and the Indians scored again on a 26-yard pass then again with a blocked punt and 82-yard return for Chattooga to lead going into the half 42-0.

In the third quarter Zayden Cook scored again with a 7-yard rushing touchdown.  In the fourth quarter Aiden Fletcher scored on a 26-yard return for the Indians final score of the game.  The Indians claimed the win, defeating Gordon Central 55-6.

Next week, it will be a battle of the tribes with the Chattooga Indians hosting Armuchee at the Little Big Horn.

The Bulldogs were at LaFayette on Friday evening and dominated the scoreboard for the majority of the game.  Only once did the Ramblers rally to take a one-point lead over the Bulldogs briefly in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs regained their momentum and pulled away with another touchdown in the third quarter and two more scores in the fourth quarter.

The final score was 50-21 with the Bulldogs remaining undefeated.  They are now 5-0 on the season.

Next week, the Bulldogs will be hosting Robbinsville, North Carolina at Sam R. McCain Stadium.
