The Summerville City Council is set to convene a special called meeting this evening at 5:30 PM. According to the official agenda released by the city just this past Friday, the council members will first go into a closed-door executive session to discuss matters related to pending litigation.  Following the executive session, the city engineer and a panel of subject matter experts will present detailed information to the council regarding PFAS remediation efforts at the Raccoon Creek Water Treatment Plant. PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are a concerning class of man-made chemicals that have been found in the water supply and can pose health risks.  You can see a copy of the agenda for tonight’s meeting below:
