Frank Anthony Miller, a 43-year-old convicted felon, was arrested for the possession of firearms by a convicted felon after a domestic complaint last week.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began when Miller’s wife, Christine Spitzer, left their home briefly to run an errand, only to return and find her husband in a rage. According to Spitzer’s account, the two began arguing heatedly, with Miller threatening to “knock her out” if she tried to leave with their children. Spitzer also informed the responding deputies that Miller, a known felon, owned a firearm – a 12-gauge shotgun that was later recovered from a safe in the home.

When deputies Ellenburg, Wilks, and Bell arrived on the scene, they located Miller in the back bedroom and instructed him to join them in the living room. During questioning, Miller admitted to making the threatening statement to his wife, though he denied ownership of the shotgun found in the safe. However, Miller’s own eight-year-old child told deputies that his father had indeed purchased the weapon previously.

With this corroborating evidence, the deputies placed Miller under arrest,  and transported him to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
