A Cedar Bluff man is facing multiple charges after an altercation with law enforcement on Gadsden Road that escalated when he allegedly bit a police officer. According to records from the Floyd County Jail, 39-year-old John Edwin Terry Jr. was seen aggressively pounding on the side of a parked camper trailer early Wednesday morning. When a Cave Spring police officer approached Terry to inquire about his behavior, he reportedly became belligerent. The situation quickly deteriorated as the officer informed Terry that he was under arrest. In a fit of aggression, Terry is accused of striking the officer and biting him on the left forearm. Backup officers soon arrived on the scene, successfully subduing Terry and taking him into custody. He is now facing several serious charges, including felony obstruction of law enforcement, aggravated battery, disorderly conduct, and possession of pills not in the original container. The injured officer was treated for the bite and is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. .
