
The Salvation Army in Rome, GA is currently accepting applications for the 2024 Angel Tree program through October 31st. Residents of Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga counties are eligible to apply, but only in person on the specified days. Online or phone applications will not be accepted.
Applications can be submitted in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm at the Salvation Army office on 317 East 1st Avenue in Rome. The program is designed to provide Christmas gifts for children aged birth to 12 and seniors aged 65 and up, as well as a food box for each family.
Applicants must bring essential documents like birth certificates or Medicaid cards for children, proof of government assistance, income verification, proof of residency, and a photo ID to the Salvation Army office during the application process. Failure to provide all necessary documents by November 29, 2024, will result in removal from the program.
Additionally, volunteers are needed for the Red Kettle Campaign during the holiday season, especially groups of volunteers to ring bells. Registration to volunteer can be done online at www. registertoring. com.
During Hurricane Helene relief efforts in south Georgia, Major Harwell and other Salvation Army personnel provided support. Donations to support hurricane relief efforts can be made by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY or online at www. HelpSalvationArmy. org.
The Angel Tree program in Rome, Georgia is available to families to supplement Christmas gifts for their children ages birth to 12 years. The Angel Tree program also is available for Seniors ages 65 & up. One food box will also be provided for each family. See requirements below:

• Copies of ALL the following documents must be brought to the Salvation Army office located at 317 East First Avenue in Rome at the time of your application:
– Birth certificates or Medicaid card for all children in household
– All that you receive: food stamps, SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid.
– Proof of income for parent/guardian applicant
– Proof of residency (1st page of mortgage, lease, or utility bill showing address)
– Photo ID for applicant
• Failure to supply ALL documents by November 29, 2024 will result in being removed from the Angel Tree program after adequate attempts are made to contact you at the contact information that you provide.
