The Summerville City Council is set to hold a regular called meeting this evening at 5:00 PM at the Summerville City Hall, located on Georgia Avenue, across from Summerville First Baptist Church. The public is encouraged to attend, with a question and answer session scheduled to commence at 4:30 PM, allowing residents to engage directly with council members.

A key item on the agenda is the approval of the meeting agenda and the consent agenda, which includes several important financial approvals. Among these are the payment of $15,064.72 to Pace Construction for the installation of windows and doors at the Public Works Building, as well as a payment of $15,000 to Hand Service Company for a raw water pump for the Raccoon Creek Water Treatment facility.

Mayor Harry Harvey is expected to make several announcements, including a proclamation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the announcement of the 2024 CDBG award. The meeting will also feature reports from various department heads, including updates from Main Street, the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Public Works, Recreation, Police, Fire, and IT Administration. In the new business segment, the council will discuss and potentially approve the Health Insurance Plan for 2025.

Additionally, the council will review bids for right-of-way mowing and fencing at the new Public Works Building, with discussions and actions expected on both items. The meeting will conclude with a public comments section, allowing residents to voice their opinions or concerns before adjournment.
