Yesterday, October 28th, marked the fifteenth day of Early Voting for the upcoming Presidential Election on November 5th, and Georgia is witnessing unprecedented turnout. As of Monday, the state has surpassed a remarkable 2.9 million early votes, accounting for over 40% of all active voters across Georgia. In Chattooga County, early voter participation is also on the rise.

On Monday alone, 426 residents cast their ballots, bringing the county’s total early votes to 5,409. Notably, 26 voters took advantage of extended voting hours, making their voices heard between 5 and 6 PM. This year’s early voting numbers in Chattooga County have already eclipsed the total from the 2020 General Election, where 5,401 residents participated in early voting. With the strong momentum continuing, local election officials expect even more voters to take part before the early voting period concludes.

Early voting will run through this Friday, with all voting taking place at the Chattooga County Registrars Office, located at 10017 Commerce Street in Summerville.

Voters are reminded to bring a valid picture ID when they come to cast their ballots. Voting hours this week are set from 8:30 AM until 6 PM, in advance of the November 5th General Election.
