The Georgia Department of Administrative Services is set to host a State Agency Career Fair today, welcoming local residents eager to explore new career opportunities within government agencies. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Floyd County Campus, in the Conference Center located in Building H.
This free event is designed to facilitate connections between various State of Georgia government agencies and individuals looking to launch or advance their careers. Matt Bryant, director of Enrollment Services at GNTC, expressed enthusiasm for the fair, emphasizing its significance for students, graduates, and community members. “We are excited to host this event, which will offer our students, graduates and community members the opportunity to explore rewarding careers with State of Georgia agencies,” he stated. “Events like these play an important role in shaping our state’s workforce, helping to identify and prepare future leaders and ensure a strong transition as new generations step into key roles.”
Participating agencies include prominent organizations such as Cobb and Douglas Public Health, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Georgia Department of Administrative Services, and several others, including the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, the Georgia Department of Corrections, and the Technical College System of Georgia. Kristy McClendon, Recruiting and Retention Unit manager at DOAS, highlighted the fair’s potential impact for job seekers. “This event promises to be a dynamic platform where participating Georgia state agencies can showcase their career opportunities, network with potential candidates, and engage in meaningful discussions about industry trends and skills in demand,” she said.
The State Agency Career Fair presents an excellent opportunity for ambitious individuals to connect directly with public sector employers actively seeking to fill internships, entry-level positions, and experienced roles. Whether you’re just starting your career journey or looking to take the next step, this fair offers a valuable chance to explore the diverse career pathways available within Georgia’s state agencies.
