The Boys & Girls Clubs serving Chattooga, Gordon, Murray, and Whitfield counties will merge with The Boys and Girls Club of North Georgia, which serves Gilmer and Pickens counties, effective January 2025. This merger aims to combine strengths and resources to have a greater impact in the community.

It will expand the services offered to kids and allow for more resources to be directed towards programs that help young people reach their full potential as responsible citizens, according to Robbie Slocumb, CEO of BGC-Chattooga, Gordon, Murray, and Whitfield counties. The new organization will serve over 800 kids daily across six counties and will be managed by the current Board of Directors from the Chattooga, Gordon, Murray, and Whitfield clubs.

The merged organization will retain the name The Boys & Girls Club of North Georgia. The merger is expected to help serve more youth, save money, streamline operations, enhance mission awareness, provide career growth for staff, and better utilize resources. Donor contributions will continue to support local communities.
