Several new legislators will start their first legislative session on January 13, joining returning legislators and leadership for another year of making laws at the Gold Dome.

Various organizations will highlight important bills to watch during the 40-day session that ends in early spring. Each winter, multiple nonprofits and business groups in Georgia host meals and events to discuss issues facing lawmakers and to present their legislative priorities.

On January 8, Voices for Georgia’s Children will hold an event called Beyond the Hardware: Keeping Kids Safe at School and Beyond, featuring brunch and discussions with state leaders. On January 12, Feeding Georgia will host its annual Wild Hog Supper, with about 1,200 attendees. Additional events will occur in-person and online, providing insights into political and policy debates, covering areas like business, education, and health care.

The first week will also include legislative preview breakfasts on January 14.
