A report from the Summerville Police Department released on Friday of last week, details an incident from late last year involving a Ringgold resident, identified as Garrett Sturdivant, a man loitering near businesses like Marvins Building Supply.

Police were called after complaints about his suspicious behavior. Upon arrival, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from Sturdivant. He stated he had been dropped off to celebrate the New Year and admitted to drinking two beers and a liquor drink. Sturdivant shared a strange story about running away from an activated can and claimed to be a “5059th-degree mason,” raising concerns about his mental state.

When asked about concerning items, he handed over four bottles of prescription drugs, including one with unknown mixed pills. He was arrested for public intoxication and taken to jail without incident.
