The Qualifying Period for the City of Summerville Special Election to fill the unexpired term of Council Seat Number 2 vacated by Kevin Gilliland closed at 12 noon today. There were two Summerville residents that qualified: Lloyd "Buddy" Windle, III of 18 Union Street, Summerville, GA and Robert O. McWhorter of 9285 Rome Blvd., Summerville, GA. The Special Election will be held in conjunction with the City of Summerville General Election to fill Council Seats 3, 4, and 5. The Special Election candidates will be listed on a separate ballot from the General Election.
