Nearly half a million Georgians, including small business owners, farmers, veterans, and gig workers, cannot afford private health insurance but earn too much to qualify for Medicaid. Closing this coverage gap is important for both health care and economic reasons, benefiting not only those in need but all Georgians.
Natalie Crawford is a Republican, former two-term Habersham County Commissioner and executive director of BRIDGE Georgia, a coalition that advocates for closing the health insurance coverage gap. It includes healthcare and business leaders, veterans, faith groups, and families seeking to improve life for Georgians. The coalition focuses on the economic and social benefits of affordable healthcare access and proposes a unique model to provide coverage to nearly 300,000 Georgians.
Crawford will be the featured speaker at the next Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce meeting scheduled for February 18th at noon. The meeting will featured a catered meal, and reservations are required. (Register HERE). Join the Chamber for their February meeting to be held at the Chattooga County Civic Center, located at 44 – Highway 48 in Summerville, across from Truist Bank.
