The Georgia World Congress Center was buzzing with talent and ambition this past weekend as SkillsUSA Georgia hosted its annual State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC) from February 20-22.  CTAE students from Chattooga High School participated in the event, a premier showcase for Georgia’s brightest career and technical education (CTE) students, that saw participants compete in over 150 skilled, occupational, and leadership competitions. Chattooga High School made a strong showing at the conference, with several teams earning top honors. Notable achievements include:

Cabinetmaking: CarolAnn Cash – 2nd Place

Drywall: Lexy Cochran & Keira Quinn – 2nd Place

Metalworking Display: Cooper Hampton, Gunner Henderson, Skylar Ward, Kyler Wells, Parker Powell – 2nd Place

Tactical Response: Brian Gilbert, Layla Shaw, Anthony Brinkman, and Gabriel Hudgins – 3rd Place

Teamworks:Mason Majors, Lane Bridges, Pedro Lopez, Zayden Cook – 1st Place

Welding Fabrication: Evan Fletcher, Connor Ray, Gavin Collier – 2nd Place

The SkillsUSA Georgia SLSC not only celebrates the accomplishments of these talented students but also underscores the importance of investing in career and technical education to build a skilled and competitive workforce for the future.
