Tyrone Adams, a Summerville resident, was arrested on multiple charges including obstructing law enforcement and marijuana possession after a domestic dispute call on February 26th. According to a police report, at approximately 6:23 PM, Summerville Police Department officers were dispatched to 108 Scoggins Street in response to a report of a domestic dispute involving a male allegedly attempting to strike another male with a chain.

Upon arrival, the suspect, later identified as Tyrone Adams, had already fled the scene. Witnesses described Adams as wearing a camouflage jacket, shirt, and blue jeans with camouflage accents. Officers canvassed the area, and a short time later, E-911 dispatch informed law enforcement that Adams was seen heading south on Cox Street in the direction of the Chattooga County Jail. Officer Wilson located Adams walking west on West Washington Street. Officer Wilson, aware of a pre-existing felony probation warrant for Adams, instructed him to place his hands behind his back. Adams reportedly refused to comply with the officer’s commands and resisted arrest.

After being placed in handcuffs, officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from Adams’ person. Adams admitted to possessing marijuana, and a search revealed a clear baggie of a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, as well as a rolled marijuana joint, in his front left pocket. The joint reportedly smelled of burnt marijuana. Adams refused to provide information to confirm the outstanding warrant. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Obstructing Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana (less than 1 ounce).

Tyrone Adams was booked into the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
